11 balls Jaeger extra fine merino aran in Aubergine
35″ size
4.5mm Addis for body
3mm/2.75mm needles for hems – this meant the hems didn’t flare

This was a quick and fun knit – all in all, a very clever design. I think it only took two weeks and a bit to finish. The yarn was superb to work with and it got softer with subsequent washes. Considering I used a non-tweedy yarn, it has turned out looking like a very smart, tailored jacket. The Jaeger yarn has a lovely sheen to it too. I’ve used one of my antique jet brooches as a closure but I may need to make some button loops depending on what the recipient would like.

I knit to the pattern gauge and it turned out 35″ for the chest, 36″ at the hip and 19″ long from the neckline. I’d love to make another one in the same yarn for myself…….some day soon. Don’t know why it’s taken me so long to get around to knitting this pattern, it’s great and I highly recommend it.

Some of my faves, here, here, and here.
